Water changes lives. Water for All realized the value of water as early as in 1984 and we have since then funded projects all over the world that give people in need access to clean drinking water and improved facilities for sanitation and hygiene.
The health benefits of having access to clean water are direct and fundamental. However, by eliminating the daily task of fetching water, usually through long walks over several hours, you also give especially women and girls the gift of time. For the girls, this means they can go to school and learn how to read and write, securing a better future for themselves. Women are given the opportunity to start up a small business, earning an income and providing for their families in new ways. Ultimately the whole society changes and the power structures of the past are replaced by those of equality and opportunity.
